Calls for papers and contributions

ESSE publishes calls for papers for conferences, and for journals and collections, in different forms:



Conference organizers, editors of journals or of collections of essays, please click here to have your calls for papers published:
  • in The Messenger (circulation over 8,000)
  • on the ESSE website (300 visitors a day)
  • on the ESSE feed (currently displayed on the websites of over a dozen national associations throughout Europe)

    These ESSE feed is edited with  and validated with FEED Validator 
    On this site the feed is displayed with   which, like RSS Express, is provided by UKOLN (UK Office for Library Networking).

    The ESSE feed is carried by the websites of the following associations: AAUTE, BAAHE, Deutscher Anglistenverband, SAES, SAUTE, SDAS, AEDEAN, HASE, AIA, FINSSE, PASE, CCUE, CZASE, HUSSE, IDEA, RSEAS.

    Some conferences are also announced on the websites of the national associations and on the website of the British Council. The website of the English Subject Centre has lists of sites where conferences may be announced.

    Conference organisers, editors of journals and of collections of essays, please send your calls for papers for conferences, and calls for contributions to journals and books, to the webmaster Jacques Ramel for posting on the ESSE webpage and in the ESSE feed.
    The calls for papers will be automatically forwarded to the Editor of The Messenger, John A. Stotesbury, for publication in the ESSE newsletter.

    Please note
    :

    • we only publish calls for papers, not the programmes of conferences or the tables of contents of journals
    • a clear deadline for proposals is essential
    • please conform as much as possible to the format of cfps already published on this website
    • preferably keep your cfps under 300 words
    • logos are welcome for inclusion in the cfp
