Apart from professors and lecturers, it also welcomes assistants, part-time teachers, and doctoral students.

SAUTE holds biennial conferences.
It circulates an annual newsletter entitled English Studies at Swiss
Universities (ESSU).
It also publishes an annual journal, SPELL (Swiss Publications in
English
Language and Literature).
