AEDEAN stands for Asociación Española de Estudios Anglo-Norteamericanos. Founded in Seville in 1976, it has a current membership of about 1.200, which includes university professors, lecturers and graduate students both from Spanish universities and abroad.
The current Chairperson of the association is Dr. Montserrat Martínez-Vázquez, Professor of English Linguistics, University Pablo de Olavide, Sevilla.

AEDEAN holds annual conferences.

The association circuates a newsletter entitled Nexus, which is issued twice a year, in March and in October. The latest issues are available online on AEDEAN's website.
It also has an electronic distribution list, to which about 700 members are subscribers; constant and updated information about publications, journals, conferences, calls for papers, as well as other professional issues, are distributed daily through this electronic list.
A directory of members, with updated information about areas of specialization and other professional details, was published in 2001.

AEDEAN publishes a journal entitled Atlantis: one issue in June, the other in December. In 2002 a collection of articles from volume 1 (1979) to volume 23 (2001) was issued on CD-Rom. The whole collection of Atlantis is available online on the journal's website: http://www.atlantisjournal.org
